Sinclair Community College

Wants to help students to succeed that would have trouble succeeding in a regular college . A bunch of staff and alumi got together to talk about the diversity of the students who attended Sinclair college . Why not every one was passing was addressed and they talked about appalation heritage ,the black race , imigrants who hadn't been in this country long enough . From this meeting reach accross Dayton was formed to help people understand all of the diverse cultures which make up our country and our city .

New culture to be addressed every year

Reach across Dayton in the past has spotlighted black people , and how they have trouble some times in going to college they have also spotlighted appalachian people and problems they have succeeding in school it all started as a way to talk about how our differences sometimes makes it hard for some people top suceed in college .

Asaian Culture was highlighted this year

We were lucky to be able to attend this confernce and hear from people from Japan , China, Pakistan,Korea , and the Phillipeans. Some of these people were not U. S. citizens even though they had been here for years others had became U. S. citizens but the thing they stood out was how like us they were . The good they were doing for their people the good they were doing for us . Their sense of humor we all laughed when they told their jokes . We were not laughing at them we were laughing with them the good these people did well out live them love really is the strongest force on earth or in heaven all over the world .
